I think I did quite possibly the craziest thing I could have added to life right now....
I am now an assistant high school marching band director at one of the township schools. And this week is band camp. That means I'm pretty much teaching from 7:30am til 8:30pm every day this week. And it's hotter than hell outside right now.
I will say that it's nice working with kids that aren't ghetto and know more than 5 notes on their instrument. They can also hold an intelligent conversation and their parents are there to help. It's a complete 360 from what I teach at my "real" job. Now I don't want to give you the impression that I quit on the ghetto kids. I still have that job, I just took this one on the side to fulfill that marching band "itch" I get about this time every year. Then in about a month I regret it. Lets just say this fall I'll be really busy.
While we're on the topic...
If anyone wants to crash with the hubby and I for Grand Nationals, you're more than welcome. It's not like living 15 minutes from the Dome isn't awesome. Also it's the last year for the Dome before they open the new stadium. We need to get tickets real soon or else we'll be sitting in the end zones. And we all know how much that sucks.
