Cute isn't she???
She's cute and innocent, but she destroys everything. Betta fish vases, hair ties, and a writing utensil can't stay on a desk without ending up on the floor. She's like a 2 year old, destructo-cat. Breaking things just to watch them be broken. It's cute....until it's your face.
My day this morning started at 8am (with my body still thinking it was 7am) with a cat landing on my face. See, she likes to sleep under the covers, between Nagi and I until it gets too hot, after about 30 seconds. She lets you know she wants under the covers by scratching at the top. It's cute, but you can't let her under there when you are asleep. I was quasi awake, while she was doing it this, morning, but not aware enough to let her under. She finally gave up and went to go look out the window...
To get to the window requires stepping over my head. For some reason, her back paw didn't quite make it over my face. She stepped on the bridge of my nose and slipped. Now, those of us that have cats, or know cats, know that a cats reflex action when they slip is CLAWS OUT! That's fine and all when it's a couch, table, chair, or floor, but when it's my face, that's not so fun.
It happened, it brought tears to my eyes, remember that I'm still half asleep. I muttered a few expletives, then rolled over, wondering if she got my actual eyeball or not, so I forced myself to open my eye. It still worked, so i was just gonna go back to sleep. Now granted, my eyes were watering so I went to wipe the 'tears' away, only my tears were red.
So I get up to check out my new wound and it's a 2-3 inch long gash, starting a quarter and inch from the bottom inside corner of my eye and following the contour of the bottom of my eye about the whole length of my eye a half inch or so below it. By this time I'm cleaning up the blood running down my face, when Nagi wakes up wondering what the heck is going on, as I'm muttering not so nice words toward his cat. We then discuss whether to get stitches or not, but due to it's location and the fact that it is easily pinched closed, it probably doesn't need them. He put some Neosporin on it to help stop the bleeding (face wounds bleed like crazy anyway) and I laid back down, and started reading my book, while he went back to sleep.
It looks pretty brutal, like I got it a bar fight or something. I need a good story to tell the kids at school. Preferably 6 different ones, one for each class, so I can see how quick the rumors spread....I'll post a picture when I get a chance, maybe tomorrow after it has time to bruise and swell.
Good thing Nagi cut their nails a day or so ago....

Maybe she's an engineer: needing to test until failure?
