ARGH! Broken Knobs R teh Sux0rs!

Yeah, so when Gimp and I moved into the little hole we call our room, Gimp turned the heater knob, and it fell off in her hand. I think the heater is now stuck on high. Now that it's starting to get chilly, the heaters could be turned on any day. Hey at least the heater's on right? Yeah, but it stuck on Freakin' high! So we put in a maintenance request. Seriously how much does it take to out a knob back on a heater?
Well apparently a lot. The dude came out today and said that to fix it he had to take off the entire heater cover. For crap sakes, it's a little knob on the left side of the heater. Screw these stupid heaters that are 13 years older than I am! (from 1969) So now you're thinkin' "what's the big deal about having to take off the cover of a heater?"
1. It covers the entire wall
2. It requires tearing apart the WHOLE room. AKA:beds, futon, all the schtuff that's underneath the beds and futon
3. He wants to come back tomorrow. I have class from 9:30-3:30 and then I'm headed to 'Boro. Gimp leaves for work around 4:30ish. Either way there is the possibility of only 1 or (hopefully) neither one of us here
4. Gimp and I are lazy and don't wanna move all the crap. Because there is a lot of crap
and we don't know where to put it

So instead of moving the schtuff, here's what our proposed solution to the problem is:
When the guy gets here tomorrow, Gimp's gonna tell him in a nice way to get the bloody heck outta here because we don't wanna move the stuff. Because our window does open, that will be our temperature regulator. I mean, it's not like we have to pay for the heat. If the heater was stuck on "Off" that would be a problem. Because it's stuck on High there will always be heat, not matter what the temperature is in here because we don't have a thermostat. That's our proposed plan, if you have any other suggestions, leave them for me in the comment section below :)
