Musical Obsession...

Yes, I'm obsessed with music. There is a reason I'm a music major. But that really has almost nothing to do with this post. Granted some would say that I am obsessed with DMB. I'm not. I am a fan, but I don't trade tapes of live shows and go to every concert within a 1000 mile radius, but I do try to go 1 concert a summer, and they're only lawn seats, not front row (though front row would be freakin' awesome). Anyway, where am I getting at? Oh yeah, I have a professor that has a hilarious obsession with a band/group.
Dr. Per Broman
Obsession?: ABBA.
Dr. Broman's obsession with ABBA is funny, and I wouldn't say unhealthy. It does add a little entertainment to music theory class. It's funny because you never know when ABBA will pop up on a quiz or a test. He enjoys using it to study Sentences and Periods, especially in a Sonata form, be it 1st movement, slow movement, rondo, or concerto form. It's funny to hear ABBA right after a Beethoven or Mozart piano concerto. Total shock to the system. Oh, and did I mention that Dr. Broman is Swedish? I think that's a "crucial" point :)
