Finally
I finally got to relax yesterday for the first time since fall break a month ago. Yesterday was a b-e-a-utiful day. So Gimp and i grabbed our cameras and drove around the Northwest corner of Ohio. We hit some Metroparks and the Erie Canal, which still give tours on a canal boat pulled by mules and goes through a lock. It also happens to run parallel to the Maumee River. It made for some pretty interesting pictures.
We then went to the Providence Dam on the River. It was cool because there was a frekin' tree in the dam. The way the sun was hitting the water was cool too. And they had this cool pavilion with picnic tables and such. Ther mules and canal boat also turned around here.
From there we we got bored with the river and decided we wanted to get to Lake Erie. The question was, we didn;t know how to get there, but we knew what direction it was in. So we drove until we found it, ending up where we wanted to at Maumee Bay State Park. The lodge is right on the water, and there's a beach. Gimp and I were the only people there, obviously it was a little chilly, especially since by now the sun was starting to set. We got some pretty sweet pictures of the water though. I figured out that pictures of the beach are best in black and white. Overall it was a very relaxing day and sure beat sitting around here on my butt! What's better than spending the day at the beach? (Actually if it's Lake Erie, I can think of better places :)) Although it was so deserted and peaceful that at that point it was pretty in it's own Lake Erie sorta way.
