The teaching job fair on campus today was interesting to say the least. I had a total of 8 interviews, 3 in Texas, 2 or 3 in FL, 1 in KY and the other in NC. My first one was the KY one, it went horribly, and that's putting it nicely. Everything after that was incredibly awesome, they all went well. The NC job is an anticipated opening, the 3 in TX are pretty much "get your stuff to us and you have a job" one of the FL schools was hiring for 4 general music positions (NOT ME!) and the other 2 are where it gets interesting.
I could have a job in a heart beat at one of the schools. It's 70 miles from Orlando and less than an hour from the beach. The starting salary is incredible and well, it would be a cool job. Complete with it being a magnet school of performing arts.
The other one is just about the same minus the magnet school part.
Some things I have reservations about:
-Being far away from people I know (especially the better half)
-Will I like living in FL? I mean it sounds cool now because it's been cold and rainy and dreary here for the past 2 weeks. Florida summers are HOT! But I guess I can be and opposite snowbird or something.
-How long will my first contract be? I mean, I don't wanna be stuck there for longer than I have to be if I hate it.
The other thing. There are other jobs still available, but the ones I want require some experience, which yes, i have experience with band camps and stuff, but they want contracted teaching experience, that of which I have none of. I can't really be picky and choosy until I have that experience. Its to the extreme that this dude wants me to meet the principal of the school while I'm in Orlando with the band.
I'm confused, any input would be appreciated :p

Sounds to me like the Orlando school is the way to go.
You've got to start somewhere, why start anywhere but the 'lead' pole position?
I... can't deny that the Orlando job is awesome.
