It's Officially Over

Tonight was the band concert. I conducted 3 of the 4 pieces, and at first it was scary. Then it was a blast. All the pieces went really really well, I was pleased.

One of the pieces required the use of 2 trash cans for the percussionists. I searched 2 hours and about 6 different stores to find to METAL trash cans. Most trash cans nowadays are all fancy and plastic with wheels and such, but the piece called for 2 metal ones, so ACE Hardware saved me. They're also 30 gallon trash cans.

The trash can piece was the last piece they played tonight, and afterwards, I got a trash can to keep as a present. Last week when I wasn't there, the kids all signed it for me. Right now I plan on it being used as an end table, but I just got this ingenious idea to use it for adult beverages at my graduation party. How wrong is that?

Anyway, my student teaching is offically over, and I'm going to miss the kids a lot. I told them in a nice way that tonight was the last time they were probably going to see me. Little do they know that they are getting pizza from me during band tomorrow. Me? Sneaky? NEVER!

After pizza with the band tomorrow, I'm leaving to drive the first leg of my interview, and stay with the better half. I will then get up Thursday morning, and drive the rest of the way to almost Lousiville. Hopefully it will all go well, this job is at least in the same state as the better half. Wish me Luck!
