So I got offered a long term sub position at a School in Dayton. I haven't officially accepted yet, but I think I'm going to. This put me in a real delimma.
I've discussed this with a total of 4 people now, and now I'm looking into input from all of you.
Here's the situation.
I have a "job" doing what I don't want to do. I get offered job I want to do, but that job is only until October or so. The ultimate goal is a full time job.
I want to quit this job I've had for 2 days to sub. And subbing might actually pay a teensy bit more, especially with the marching band supplemental. Do i take this job, possibly killing the potential of me getting a full time job this year?
I told the director on the phone when I called him back, and he asked me if I had a full time job or not. I told him that I didn't, but my resume's out there. His response? "I know, I fully understand." So when I have the meeting with the principal, I'll just ask her full out, what were to happen if I did get offered a full time position somewhere else. Hopefully it will be the answer I want. That would make this whole thing a lot easier.
Right now, the plan is to take this job, and when it's over, sub my tail end off. That is, unless I get a full time job. What an endless circle.
Taking this sub position will also fill that "Contracted Teaching Experience" section on teaching applications that I have to leave blank. I don't like leaving that section blank.
So, any thoughts, suggestions, ideas, or are you all as confused as I am about this decision?

If you have no other real job prospects, I would say go for it.
