A big thanks to all who called after seeing away messages about my grandma. She's still alive. I'm fine, and I'm glad to know people care. My aunt called yesterday to tell my Mom that her Mom is laying in bed, won't eat, and has been to the emergency room twice in the past 3 days.
You have to know my grandma. She's a spitfire. All her life she worked like a dog out in the feilds and prided herself on it. She was in cherry pickers picking apples, pruning grape vines at a vineyard, and well, stuff "normal" women wouldn't ever do. She is a workhorse. Always go go go, smokes 3-4 packs a day, and has beaten cancer 3 times.
Well, now it's not cancer, it's osteoperosis. In her back. They took x-rays this past weekend, and had to take extras because her bones were so brittle and porous, they weren't showing up on the x rays. So to make a long story short, she's in A LOT of pain. 2 of her lower vertabrae are rubbing together. Don't take this how it's about to sound, but if she were a dog or cat, I'd put her to sleep.
As for the not eating thing. She's had it in her head since I can remember that she's not going to be a fat old lady. So she doesn't eat what she cooks. She's never eaten a holiday meal at the table with us, and after, she picks at certain things. 5 or so years agao, she was pretty close to my size, height, weight, everything. Now she weighs MAYBE 120 lbs. That's right, imagine me weighing 120 pounds. She's also a nerve bag, and is deathly afraid of dying. None of her brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, whatnot is left. She' s the last. Also, if my grandpa were to go before her, she'd go nuts. So not only is she in physical pain, but mentally, she's kinda crazy and is beginning alzheimers.
On top of all this, I have an interview in Indy tomorrow at a private school for a K-8 position. Which means I'll teach general music >< but then have 5-8 band. Not exactly what I want, but it's a job, and it's in Indy. And they got my resume from another school. So if I get that, I'm gonna hafta tell the school that I'm teaching at now that I'm leaving. Which sucks because here in about a week, they're gonna really need me, and it will be hard to find a replacement before school starts on the 17th of August. But sometimes you do what'cha gotta do.

1) Glad your Grandma is ok... or at least, not so very different than expected. You know, if she was heavier, she might have more bone problems... but if she'd been eating more for the past 10 years, she might not have as severe bone problems...
2) Private schools FTW. Downside, bourbon and I just signed a 1 year lease... but that's ok. Get that job! And then get them to recommend you for an 8-12 private school!
3) When bourbon and I were renewing, they offered us a free month. We both owe for august, and bourbon brought his checkbook, to pay up for that. On the way out, he remarks that I'm a prophet, because I didn't bring my checks and, lo, I didn't need them. So, based on that, I'm going to leave my wallet here and go to Best Buy now.
