I started and finished my Christmas shopping today. I would be cool and do it online, but that's not as fun. I like the instant gratification. I went down to the Kenwood Towne Center in Cincinnati, mostly because I'm tired of the Dayton Mall and Fairfield Commons. On top of that, Kenwood has more of a variety of stores, such as the Apple Store (where I again drooled at the 22 in flat screen monitor), the Sony store (I drooled at a very large HiDef 1080 flat screen) and other stores not common to the Dayton area. While I was down there, I made the most of it, spending about 4 hours shopping and walking around.
It's no news that I love the Apple store. Who doesn't? I had to make a purchase there today. Not for anyone who reads this, so don't get your hopes up. It's not often that I physically go to an Apple Store, being that it's at least 40 minutes away and rare that I buy something from there. As usual the mall was VERY crowded, and of course the Apple Store was as well. Some of this may be old hat to you regular Apple Store shoppers, but to me, it wasn't. First of all, I went in, browsed as I went back to the section I wanted, got what I needed, then went to get in the long line to check out. Then I notice Apple employees wandering the store, with hand held credit card swiper thingys checking people out with credit cards. I being a credit card user, avoided the long line and checked out next to the iPod nanos, and they EMAILED me a recipt as a .pdf file. GENIUS! Now I can't loose it!
Next, the bag, also genius. You know those Nike/Adidas/enter sports brand name here, nylon back packs that cinch shut with the rope straps? That's what Apple's shopping bags are, though instead of nylon, a durable plastic. No handles to cut into your hand, no plastic turning your hands colors. Throw the bag onto your back like a backpack and go, freeing up hands for department store items. It was great.
Overall a good day of shopping, where as usual, I spent more money than I planned on spending. But hey, it's Christmas, I like buying things for others sometimes more than I like buying things for myself.
Though if I get this job I'm buying myself a TV, and a Wii, and a comfy couch of some sort :p
Also, big gratz to OSU QB Troy Smith for winning the Heisman!!! GO BUCKS! I better get a response to this....
O-H...
