S'plode

So my car is most likely on its last leg.

A week ago, I was going to go to the mall, I ALMOST made it out of the neighborhood before it died. First ist slowed down, then my brakes acted a little funny, then my engine died. I tried restarting it to no avail. It would turn over, but not fire. At this point, I call my Dad and he drives the 2 seconds to come get me, informs me that I can take his truck to finish what I started out to do, and we'll worry about it later.

Later rolls, around, and I clear it of valuables, (horn, flute, CDs) and decided to wait until the morning to have it towed so i don't have to pay through the nose.

Thursday morning rolls around, I get up early to call the tow guy, (he usually is st the Donut Haus at 7:30) then call the repair place to inform them that my car is arriving. They call my Dad later in the afternoon and tell him that they looked at it, and it's going to be after Christmas until they get a chance to dig in. That's fine, I'll just make Nate drive or take someone else's car.

I get a call Wednesday and am informed that my car is blowing a fuse that controls the alternator, fuel pump, and some other important stuff that keeps gas flowing to my engine. At this point they know their going to have to work backwards to find the problem knowing there's a bad wire somewhere. And at $60 and hour for labor, they better find it damn quick.

To make a long story short, I'm getting it back today sans a cover around my shifter. For some reason something jiggled today and it's running fine, but they don't want to put it all back together in case it happens again, to save me the labor costs of undoing it all.

In other words, I'm gonna start looking for a different car, even though I can't afford one. Anyone got one I can have?
