So I, like a bunch of other people probably destroyed my back tonight shoveling snow.
It snowed a lot here in Indy.
Most teachers probably don't have to worry about having school tomorrow. Working for a school in the district of a big city has many downfalls, one of them being rare snow days. I got one today, but I'm guessing that I'll have to teach tomorrow, while everyone else is sitting at home doing nothing, much like I did today.
My car sometimes doesn't like to start in cold weather, that and the large accumulation of snow finally convinced me to go out at about 10pm tonight and check on my car so I wouldn't have to worry about it at 6am tomorrow. In an attempt to back out and back in, I failed. I got stuck, luckily a nice man out walking his dog gave me a push back into my spot. Turns out I got stuck because the snow underneath my car(between the left and right wheels) is was too deep behind my car. I walk back into the hallway to warm up while my car is running, contemplating how to move 8 inches of snow in a 3ft by 4 ft rectangle behind my car. Whithout a snow shovel.
Luckily one of my neighbors walks out to smoke and asks how I'm doing, I tell him my situation. He mentions that he's been shoveling the walk all day and it looks like he hasn't touched it. I ask for his shovel. I get to work.
Oh and I got hit on by some drunk neighbors. Some guy asked for my number from his 2nd floor balcony, and I yelled back to him "Too bad I'm engaged!" Had I not been freezing cold and angry, I would have been a little more nice.
With my luck, there won't be school tomorrow. But if there is, I don't have to worry about shoveling in dress clothes at 6am.
