Vroom...Vroom...GIT R DUN

My brother got the El Camino running again today and I got to take it for a spin around the neighborhood! YAY! That thing might look like a piece of poo on the outside, but on the inside it's pretty. He and his friends like to call it a "sneaker." Meaning that it looks like a piece and people think it's a piece until he takes off. The one thing about this car is that there is no easy starting or smooth shifting, it's all or nothing because of the high performance clutch he put in it. It's most definitely NOT one of those cars that people should look at you and say "oh wow, you're driving a stick? I couldn't tell." The clutch grabs and grabs quick. The car's only putting out between 400 and 500 horsepower.

When i came home yesterday I asked if he had it running yet. When I was home for Thanksgiving the cops had been by and given him some trouble for having an unlicensed non running vehicle in the driveway. It's licensed, but he had the tailgate off because he was popping some dents out of it. As of today the car is now running, but yesterday it was "running" the only thing wrong with it was that it was out of time. It was in time just enough to start and run, but there was some major backfiring going on. Kinda like John Candy's car in Uncle Buck. Backfiring to the point that there were flames shooting out of the carburetor. Not little flames either. They were decent sized, very impressive. When he turned the car off, they were still going. He and his friend played with the timing for about a half hour today and everything is good!

Now that the engine is good again (lets hope he doesn't break off any more oil pan bolts) he's going to spend about a grand on headers for it. He says they'll definitely put it over 500hp. He's also going to order a cowl induction hood and start working on welding the quater panels on. It's coming together slowly but surely. I think his license plate says it all...GIT R DUN...
