Ummm....Yeah...
So it's the second day of classes and I have a 4 hour break until my next class, I'm bored. Most of my classes should be pretty interesting. I have comments about every class so I might as well list them.
1.) Music History II is gonna suck as bad as Music History I minus the notebook and the fact that we will be studying composers from the classical period, dead dudes that I have actually heard of. There is a catch, instead of a notebook there is a listening journal and listening quizzes, That means that I actually have to do outside class work unlike History I. Oh well...
2.) Music Theory IV should be interesting. I'm just glad that after this class I'll be done with theory! woo! THe only part is that this class is all about 20th century and atonal music. Granted, I'm not the hugest fan of atonal music, but I'm open to it. 20th century music is fun though. It's wacky in a cool way, and it studies the cool composers like Stravinsky and the likes. Today in class we listened to parts of the American Beauty soundtrack and the Meet Joe Black soundtrack. I've always like movie soundtracks :)
3.) Piano 256 can we say suck? Thank God this is the last piano class I have to take. It's going to require a lot of out of class work and practicing though, and I don't like that. The hardest part is that instead of sitting there playing chord progressions now we have to accompany class members. Ewwww...I suck at the piano. Here's hoping I pass...
4.) Askills III is going to kick my ass. We're getting closer to the atonal "here's a bunch of notes and no melody, sing it" stage. Can we say suck???? Especially since my teacher isn't one of my favorites. I miss Mr. Fox...
5.) Ballet I is gonna rock! It's my stress relief fun class. Granted, the stuff we're gonna learn is stuff I learned when I was 5, but after 6 years of not dancing, it will be just enough to remind my muscles "hey you exist!" and hopefully kick my fat ass into shape so I can stay in shape over the summer and take ballet II next fall. It's my incentive class so to speak.
6.) Math. Everyone knows that I hate math. But it's Intro to Statistics. How hard can it really be? It's the lowest math class offered that counts a a gen. ed. Yup, that's me, doing just enough to get by. I'm not taking a high level math class unless I have to! I don't actually know how easy because the first class is in an hour...
7-11.) Meh, they're classes like band and lessons and horn choir and stuff that I've taken before. Not a big worry...
So, there, 17 credit hours this semester, 11 classes. Yes, i know, BG likes to rip off the music majors when it comes to credits. Sady, 17 credit hours is a light load. I was going to say something else, but I don't remember what it was. With that folks, there's what I think of this semester so far, we'll see how it goes...
