G33KS ARE TEH WIN!

This post is the result of a conversation held earlier tonight via the interweb. Held primarily between 2 very single guys (who are self proclaimed "nerds that need geeky lovin'") that want to convince the wimins that nerds aren't bad at all and that they are very easy to please. I, being the girlfriend of a nerd for damn near close to 6 years, support them and their quest to find a woman who is not turned off by a little geekyness. Come on ladies, neither one of them look like total nerds! So I have compiled my list of reasons geeks are not so bad after all and how to make it easier to get along with them! (*there are geeks that take it too far, watch out for those types...you know what they look like*)

1.) They're incredibly easy to please. Seriously, all you have to do is buy underwear like this and this and they're happy as can be.

2.) They assume that you don't like MMORPGs, so just go along with it (if you do like them, that's an added bonus). When they start talking about them, smile and nod as if you know what the hell they're talking about.

3.) Take a stab at playing a MMORPG. You'll find out they aren't so bad after all. There are characters for everyone! You can cast cool spells and beat stuff up, all while talking to other people and strategizing. The best part? You can talk to people with out caring what you look like, because they can't see you. What's better than a chat room with a game going on?

4.) Clothing. Most of us women folk will agree that geek fashion isn't really the greatest. Figure out how to use it to your advantage. I happen to be a fan of the fleece vest. It's very entertaining with zippers and stuff. Makes it easy to flirt and be annoying at the same time. If there's velcro on the cargo pockets of their khakis, play with it. Learn how to make the wardrobe entertaining while they're talking to geek friends about the EQ raid they went on the night before!

5.) Most geeks (unlike us women) only own as few shoes as practical. Realize that this is ok as long as there are brown shoes with a brown belt and black shoes when they wear a black belt. Don't try to get picky about the style, you've landed a good geek if they follow that rule. Socks with sandals is NEVER, hear me, NEVER ok.

6.) Realize that there may be times when their computer is more important than you are. This is ok, if it lasts for no longer than 24 hours. This mainly happens when there are raids planned for *insert MMORPG here* Entertain yourself some other way. Read a Cosmo (my choice), play PS2, Gamecube or Xbox, or *insert console here*. They are bound to own one, a couple, or all of them. If worst comes to worst, crash on the couch and take a nap. Another option would be to strip naked and stand on the other side of the room, they'll log VERY quickly. (Quit thinking that I've done that, because I haven't!)

7.) If you land the right nerd you'll realize that they are also interested in more than computers and gaming. If you want to go on a date beyond dinner and a movie, you better plan that date because at times creativity stops there. There are geeks though that like to show a lady a good time(like my friends), if you find one of those, you've hit the jackpot. Keep him!

8.) Whenever you're computer's broke, tech support is right there. Most of them, unless it's they're own computer, hate trying to fix other people's computers. But because you're they're better half, they'll do it, because they're nice.

9.) Geeks, believe it of not, like to have fun away from the computer. It's just a matter of suggesting something. Wanna go out bar hoppin' and the likes? Tell them. They'll be more than happy to go get wasted, especially with a chick.

10.) Lack of drama is GREAT! They like finding out whose brother slept with your friends, brother's mother's sister-in-law, but they laugh and go on with life. They don't feel the need to spread drama. The most drama they encounter and enjoy is who pissed off who in *enter guild name here* last night. Odds are, you don't care about that anyway. Lack of drama is good.

That's all I care to think of tonight. There may be more that I didn't think of and feel free to add in the comments.

I <3 GEEKS!!! (well, one in particular)
