Nashin' and Bashin'
Nash Bash was fun! Well, Friday night sucked ass, but the rest of the weekend made up for it. We rolled into Nashville around 1am and went to our hotel, only to find that they had overbooked and we no longer had rooms. We then went hotel hopping to find one to stay in. We ended up at a hotel in Downtown Nashville with at least 6-8 people per tiny room. Plus side? Poison lead singer Brett Michaels was staying at that hotel. We finally went to bed at 3am, only to wake up at 6am for our game at 8. Whee 3 hours of sleep!
Our first game was awesome. We played Washington University. They're heaviest girl had to have weighed 120 pounds soaking wet. Their advantage was that they were all pretty fast. Disadvantage? We ran them over during scrum downs. We beat them 31-0 with rookies (like me) playing the second half.
Our second game we played University of Tennessee. They were good and the game was close so I didn't get to play. It was a good game nonetheless. We were very evenly matched. We beat them 13-12 or something. It was within 1 point and in the low teens. One of the UT girls started crying when the game was over because they lost to what they thought was a no-name team in the middle of nowhere Ohio. Too bad for them that we are one of the top 8 teams in the nation!
After the second game it was social time. We went back to the hotel, cleaned up a little, then went back to the fields, fortys in hand. After about 6 beers I was feelin' good. Then they pulled out the kegs! Free beer! Woo! That was at 6pm. I had a lot more beer and walked back to the hotel with the other girls in out room. We were all completely fitshaced. On the walk back we decided that these fountains in these really nice office buildings looked fun to wade in, so we did. We got back to the hotel and I sobered up a little bit while some of the team went to the bars downtown. I passed and was asleep by 10pm.
We got up this morning for our game at 8:30am. SUCK!!! We played like ass and got run into the ground by Central Michigan University. We normally give them a run for their money, but not today. Our hearts just weren't in it. It didn't help that at least 5 of out starting line is on the injured list and that 2-3 people we playing positions they had never played before. Also the pack was made up of mainly rookies! Nothing good comes of that. For some reason we all forgot how to tackle. Today's game was just bad!
Overall it was a good weekend. It was 80 degrees and mostly sunny Saturday and Sunday. That was a nice change from the raining dreary BG weather. Most of me wishes I would have stayed here and hung out with Nagi, but I can't change the past. He is most definitely the best boyfriend EVER!!!!
