'Tis the Season...
For graduation. The last of the "Paw Paw Crew" is graduating from high school this year, my brother included. For those of you that remember, I put together this slide show thingy for my graduation open house thing using Powerpoint. I didn't mind doing it and I surprised my parents with it. I thought it was a good idea at the time, but now I realized I opened a can of worms.
Everyone saw what I did for my graduation and wants one for theirs too. I don't mind doing one for my brother because, well, he's my brother. But there are 4-5 others I need to do in the next 4 weeks. I guess its a good thing I don't have to work during the week.
Most of them I don't really mind doing because, the time consuming part is scanning the pictures and cropping them. Putting them in powerpoint is easy, and I also have a print shopesque program that will do it. Each slide show has around 100 pictures give or take 10-20. But one always has to be different. One that I'm working on has around 250 pictures and most of them are in a scrapbook that is very well done. Not wanting to rip apart the scrapbook, that means scanning the whole page, then cropping the pictures off that page. That's more time consuming and tedious than I really want it to be. With individual pictures it's scan, crop, done. This one is, scan, crop, rotate, use fancy circle or free hand crop (which I suck at), and if I don't mess up the freehand, done. Oh, and I really hate when they want music to play with it.
I like doing this sort of thing, but not 5 at once, granted 4 of them won't take too incredibly long (10 hours, where 5 is spent scanning), but the other crazy one is gonna take forever, good thing that there's a possibility of getting a little tiny bit (and I'm serious) of monetary compensation.
Maybe I should give up the whole music thing and create a slideshow design major or something. I got nothin'.
