Voting

So I voted today. Sadly, for the first time in a long while, being at school in BG and all. I even wondered if I was still registered. I figured I knew the answer until I asked. So I truck myself around the block to the church by Main Street Deli to see if they'll still take me.

First of all I was pretty ballsy for going at 5:30pm. Expecting a long line I walk in, find out there's 3 precincts there, I walk to the wrong one, unlike Nagi, they tell me to go to the other one. Amazingly there was no line AT ALL! I walk up to the table, they look at my ID have me sign the sheet, then the guy hands me 2 pieces of paper front and back and says here's the ballot, and explains it to me. It was Scantron, only with ink. Being a teacher, I felt at home. He then tells me to rip off the bottom thingys, then feed it through the machine. Bam. done. It wasn't easy to mix up machines because they were very obvious as to which to go to. And the guy told everyone. Simple. My only complaint? my little stand thingy was wobbly, which made it difficult to fill in the bubbles.

While we're talking politics, which is rare for me, I should just get it out now. I'm glad today's over, so the commercials full of finger pointing can stop. I don't care what the other person did, what are you going to do to unfuck Ohio?

I also have a fear that Ohio is going to turn blue. In fact, I'm pretty sure it will. We all know Ohio is in bad shape. As far as the OH supreme court, I did the same thing Nagi did, fairly evenly represented from each party. For the top spot, I picked the guy who didn't start the finger pointing, he was the lesser of the 2 evils. I was hoping neither a republican or democrat was running for that reason, but no. A lot of the Warren County stuff were people running unopposed, that made that easy.

Now as to the issues. I really absolutely positively HATE uninformed voters. The smoking laws are passing as I like because people made it known which was good and which was bad, though my Mom as a smoker thinks opposite. As for the raising minimum wage issue, people need to fucking read more than what they are telling you it is. And they did it for that reason. Hidden in there is the ability to MAKE YOUR PRIVATE RECORDS PUBLIC! Not cool. Not cool at all. Right now it's passing, because people are too stupid to read more than the first bullet. Yeah, I wouldn't mind a minmum wage of $6.85, but not at the expense of my privacy. I'm glad I'm moving to Indiana next summer, and if things go well Monday, after the new year. Stupid Ohio.

On a happy note, Guitar Hero 2 is full of awesome.

I like that you oppose a law (minimum wage) based on things that you researched... but we should sit down and talk about why the minimum wage is a bad idea to begin with sometime.

The audio is awesome.

I've always thought minimum wage isn't a good idea, I wasn't going to vote for it anyway.

What I was trying to say was that people are stupid and don't read the whole Issue.
