Eragon

I went and saw the dragon movie tonight. From what I understand these are really good books.

The movie, not so good. Ok, it was good, but rushed. It had SO MUCH POTENTIAL. As Eric said, it was like watching a 2 hour trailer to the movie.

Imagine taking all the Harry Potter books and trying to make ONE 2 hour movie. Or doing the same with the LoTR Trilogy. Not happening.

The story line was good, and seems cool, remember this is coming from someone who doesn't read many fantasy novels. If at all. The movie made an excellent trailer to the books, it intrigues me to find out more about the background and storylines that I'm sure they just didn't get to. It was weird, most of the time you read the book, then want to see the movie. This time it was the other way around. I'll pick up the first book and let you know what I think.

Also, the dragon animation was amazing, and some of the scenes/whole movie were kind of like taking Diablo 2, WoW, and LoTR and turning it into a movie.

Again, a good story about a boy and his dragon, but a little bit like a flip book....skimming, quickly. It left me wanting more.
